Don't forget to practice good digital citizenship!

Practicing good digital citizenship keeps us safe. What does it mean to be a good digital citizen?

  • Think before you post.

  • Protect your private information.

  • Stand up to cyberbullying. If someone is saying hurtful things to you or someone you know, report it to an adult right away.

  • Remember, anything you search for or post online is permanent. It never goes away even if you delete it.

  • Follow the school's rules and guidelines when it comes to your iPad or Chromebook.

  • Do not accept friend requests or "talk" to anyone online that you haven't met in person.

  • Communicate WITH people rather than talk ABOUT them.

  • Respect yourself and others. Be kind online.

Happy

by Pharrell Williams/Kidz Bop

Watch and listen to this song!

  • How do YOU feel when listening to this song?

  • Did it make you want to dance or move?

  • How can we tell or show people that we are happy?

  • What brings you happiness?

ACTIVITY: Make a list of your favorite songs and next to it add the emotion you feel when you hear it!

Did you know?

  • Challenges help us to become stronger.

  • It's OK to make mistakes.  This is how we learn and grow.

  • We can teach our minds how to be smarter and stronger.

  • When we face challenges and persevere, our minds become stronger.

  • It's OK to feel scared when things are difficult.

Think about...

  • How do you make your mind stronger everyday?

  • What is a challenge that you are going through right now?

  • Tell yourself 5 things that you love about yourself (confidence in yourself helps build your mind stronger)

  • What are some things we can do at home to strengthen our mind and body?

My Strong Mind

Don't give up...

A motivational short video about trying again and again

How do you like to relax?   Here are just a few ideas.  How many can you come up with?

Just Breathe.

Wild Flowers
  • Draw or color.  You could make a picture for someone you care about.

  • Go outside to walk or play.

  • Sit quietly and notice all the sounds around you.

  • Make some art.  Use some of the objects around your house (like cardboard, straws, play-doh, crayons, and more) to create something interesting. Just have fun with it.

  • Play with your pet.

  • Think about 5 things you are grateful for.

  • Listen or dance to music.

Count on Me by Bruno Mars

Help your friends count on you, even when we have to stay home!

Think about:

How does this song and video make you feel?

Count on me:

  1. Draw pictures to post in your window. Friends who are out on a walk can look for them.

  2. Draw a card for a friend.

  3. Text or email a friend to let them know that you are thinking about them.

  4. Ask an adult to help you, if needed.

You are not alone!

While we are all away from each other and missing our friends, I want you to remember that you are not alone!  Even though we are not able to spend time together right now, we can stay connected in our minds and in our hearts.  The Invisible String is a story about two children who learn about "the invisible string".  It is an imaginary string that you can't see or touch but it is there to remind us that we are connected to one another through LOVE and friendship.

Take a Deep Breathe.  Relax.  You got this!

All feelings are OK.  Whether you are worried, angry, stressed, sad or frustrated, you can take care of your feelings, ride that emotional wave, and relax.  Try one of these meditations. Find a quiet place, close your eyes if you feel like it, and listen.  You are safe. You are loved.
